Star couple Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have quietly sold their gated beach getaway in Malibu, CA, in an off-market deal for $7 million, Variety says.
The buyer is reportedly Adam Bernhard, an entrepreneur and the founder of HauteLook. He purchased a neighboring property earlier this year for $3.3 million. The deal for the country music stars’ Malibu digs closed in late August, and Bernhard was able to shave a half-million off the original $7.5 million asking price.
The property, which Brooks and Yearwood bought in 2008 for just shy of $5 million, is a single-story contemporary that’s just over 4,200 square feet. It has four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a combo living-dining room, and an open chef’s kitchen. French doors open onto the backyard, which features an outdoor fireplace and half-court basketball court.

A wooden staircase, shared by other Malibu neighbors, leads to a few hundred yards of Paradise Cove beach. The home, located on a half-acre on Sea Lane Drive, initially hit the market in July 2014.
The singers have been married since 2005. They either own or have owned, together or separately, properties in Oklahoma and Tennessee. Variety says they maintain more than 300 acres north of Nashville which Brooks purchased in 10 separate transactions during the 1990s and early 2000s.
